An interesting fact: I am proud to say I am the 7th generation of pupils down from Beethoven! Here’s the pedagogical tree: Beethoven taught Czerny, who taught Leschetizky, who taught Heinrich Neihaus, who taught Teodor Gutman, who taught Margarita Volkova, who in turn taught me, Sophia McKett. It is wonderful to pass on this rich tradition of music making across the ages.
